Yesterday, Motorola took everyone by surprise by rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Verizon’s Moto X. The new Google-owned Motorola has been showing some serious innovation and promise, winning hearts of potential consumers on the way. In a bid to become more transparent and to keep owners of its previous generation handsets happy, Motorola has updated its website to include names of its older handsets that would be getting the KitKat update. The small, and albeit surprising, list of devices are as follows -:
Droid RAZR HD Droid RAZR MAXX HD Droid RAZR M Electrify M Atrix HD
The carrier variants as well as the developer editions of the Droid handsets would be getting the Android 4.4 update. Motorola’s website does not provide an estimated timeframe as to when the updates for the devices should land though. Looking at how quickly Motorola pushed the update for the Verizon’s Moto X though, I am guessing most, if not all, of these devices would be running KitKat by Q2 of next year. Via – Droid-Life
