If you have lost an item or you feel like it’s stolen while traveling via Lyft, you should always contact customer service but call the driver first for confirmation. You can do that by following the below steps:
Open the Lyft app. Go to your ride history. Choose the trip from the history log where you have lost the item. Then, call the driver or send a message stating that you have lost your item (This option will be available for 24 hours after your trip ends).
Always keep in mind that while sending a text to your driver, give the contact number which is available to you currently.
In case, the driver isn’t cooperating or you feel a hunch that he/she is not being honest, you always have the option of filing a case with the police. Lyft will assist through all the police investigations.

Also, remember the driver has no binding OBLIGATION to respond to your request for lost items. Lyft cannot return your stolen item unless the driver who stole it gives in voluntarily. Close your bank accounts whichever is logged into your phone. Change your password as well so that driver won’t be able to access your account. If the phone is stolen, log into your Lyft account as soon as possible via an alternate mobile phone and get the driver’s details. This will speed up the process. Since our phone contains a lot of our data and information, it is always best advice to go to the police. Stealing is a crime and should not be tolerated at any cost.
